Nebelhexë's songs express her deep thoughts, feelings, dreams, visions, obscure and esoteric experiences. She is often referred to as being one of the most intriguing personalities of her subculture, and many simply don't get her. Her music is placed in many different boxes, and always falls in-between categories. Her strange and dark videos are often misunderstood by the ignorant crowd and cause a stir: yet, she never ceases to promote individual liberation.

It was her early love for british Gothic, New Wave and underground music that brought her to London in 1990, where she soon became part of the sub-cultural scenes. Always searching, and having had a fascination for life's mysteries and a deep connection to animals, she connected with various magical, pagan and spiritual circles - amongst those the Illuminati of Thanateros.

Fascinated by the dark sides of life, she further became a model in the Fetish scene, and a known act with notorious artistic performances (such as the Cradle of Filth shows). She was involved with Anton La Vey's Church during this time.

Nebelhexë made quite an impact with the obscure, ghostly Dark Ambient project Aghast, which was released in 1994. She then moved on to create the passionate Folk and tribal melodies of Hagalaz' Runedance, a project she dedicated to the Pagan spirituality and goddess worship of northern Europe. Hagalaz' Runedance became very popular and hit the German album charts.

A passionate writer since 1995, her writings, statements and comments have become quite acknowledged. She dared to speak against the inhibiting patriarchal religions that demonized our nature and many of her social-critical comments have been printed in alternative magazines, as well as in the biggest Norwegian tabloid papers/ magazines. She has also written more controversial publications about the darker aspects of human nature and other cultural taboo subjects. She is currently working on a new book about the subject, and she also writes poems and surreal stories.

In 2000, Andrea Haugen (as she is called in "real" life), published a book about the Germanic Pagan traditions and spirituality entitled The Ancient Fires of Midgard, from which she gained a great followship of practitioners of the old traditions and modern "vikings".

Yet Andrea has made it quite clear many times that she is a free spiritual person, but by no means religious. As she states: "Life is for living! Life is an amazing journey without limits and I am fascinated by all of life's mysteries and I explore spiritual philosophies from around the world. I like real spirituality, real people and real achievements."

"I'm a person who explores life and who has done pretty many wild things in her life... To me, art and magic/spirituality are connected. I try to awake deep emotions and visions that I hope will move something in the individual. What I hope to inspire people mostly with, is that they think for themselves and value their individual freedom. My art is usually quite inspired by dark images and surreal decadence, but it doesn't mean I am morose as a person... quite the opposite. In fact, I am known to be real charming and funny (laughs). To me, "dark" means a deeper intensity of emotions and a deeper understanding for the night-side of life..."
