Selected Interview Bits About Spirituality

To me being a pagan means to be free and natural, without being restricted by the boundaries of dogmatic patriarchal religions. To be a magician or witch means to explore Life, to communicate with the Cosmos, to influence one's fate to the better and most of all, to grow as a person. I see life as a journey, with always new possibilities and also many obstacles... there are always new beginnings in life... Spiritually, I draw a lot of inspiration from different ancient mysteries and I study buddhist philosophies. I also have a strong spiritual connection to animals...

Do you believe that the point of view of the Pre-Christian tradition is possible to give solutions for major problems of Humanity such as Ecology, Fundamentalism, Violence, etc.?
Oh yes. I think the patriarchal religions are responsible for a lot of the misery the world experiences. The lack of respect for nature and animals, suppression of the feminine forces, no tolerance to other-thinking people and other religions: it's all in their holy books. The natural traditions teach a balance between forces, balance within, respect for nature and all other creatures... and most of all self-respect. If one respects the self than one also respects others. I think the values of the old natural spiritualities are very important to bring back.

(Environmental Issues)

Well, I opine the world is almost broken: climatic changes (for example, Spain will be a desert in some decades - or years, if things don't change), terrorism, the material world where the most important thing is to buy and to consume. Well, I opine human beings are very selfish, without respect and honour and a little "stupid" in general; I have almost lost my faith in Humanity. What do you think?
Yes, it is important that every person starts to take responsibility for the environment. It is horrifying that so many people don't care about what they do to the environment... they just take life for granted and throw out their garbage, let the water run, clean themselves with rolls and rolls of toilet paper and don't waste a thought about where it all comes from and where it will go. And this really annoys me about people. A lot of them don't own any respect... not to the environment, not to other people, not to the opposite sex, not to animals and not even to themselves. They practice this low trashy behaviour that makes me embarrassed to call myself a human. Self-awareness - and thus awareness - of one's environment is a very important lesson that people need to learn again...

You said you can identify yourself with the Goddess of the Hunt: why?
Skadi is the Goddess of the Hunt and the Winter. She may well represent the primal woman, the woman of the snowy mountains, the huntress clad in furs who runs with the wolves. Skadi is a fighter, a survivor and an avenger, thus I can identify myself with her. With all mythologies, I can identify myself mostly with the warrior goddess and huntress. Not because I hunt animals, not at all, but it's her nature, her strife and energy to go for it: to hunt, to fight, to use her animal instincts.
